The Reed

I am a reed that sways in the wind, dancing back and forth between indecision and conviction. Elegantly embracing the winds but weak in the face of real hardship. I so wish I was a red brick sometimes. They are what build homes, schools and buildings. They are ugly in the process, with their harsh lines and definition to the horizon and stubborn in their confrontations to the weather but they are what get the job done. They know what they are and do not pose as anything less. In doing so, they command a respect that this harsh world we live in requires. There is no place in our concrete jungles for the romantics, the dreamers and often times the lovers.
